physical health status of many of her clients, Katie began
to see the real mind/body connection - in order for one
to be mentally healthy it helps to be physically fit as
well.
Already a fitness junkie,
Katie decided to get a personal training cert. through ACE
and steered her career towards helping others move towards
optimal health. She now works part-time at the YMCA as a

If there is one thing that this industry has taught her
it is patience. You have to be committed to your goals long
term as results aren’t often seen over night; just
as the saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in a
day.” Finding ways to motivate and keep her clients
focused on those objectives, is what inspires Katie to become

new mommies to squeeze exercise into their daily routine
and working one-on-one helping individuals achieve their
personal goals. Among her proudest accomplishments are completing
the Boston Marathon and a Half-Ironman triathlon in Narragansett,
RI.
Her most important job is managing the schedules of her
three independently minded and extremely busy children –ages
11, 9, and 2 –and a husband who, despite 20 years
of dedicated service in the U.S. Army Reserves (including
a one-year tour in Iraq), still can’t manage to find
his belt.
During her free time, Kim plays softball, runs road races,
helps organize events for her community center, and puts
