| How
is the class formatted? |
| |
Ultimate
Bootcamp BLAST classes are designed to give you a high-intensity
total body workout. You'll hit all the major muscle groups
in the 90 minute class while mixing it up with challenging
group drills, cardio challenges and relay races. This class
is for the intermediate/advanced fitness levels.
Ultimate Bootcamp BASICS classes
are designed to give you a total body workout. You will focus
on exercises and drills that will help you build a solid fitness
foundation. Everyone will work at their own pace in this beginners
class. |
| I missed
the class, can I get a refund? |
| |
Refunds are not given. You must give us
3 days notice if you are not able to attend the class in order
to receive credit towards a future class. |
| I'm not
a runner, do we have to run in class? |
| |
Ultimate Bootcamp isn't a running club.
Ask a class of 30 bootcampers if they LOVE to run, and only
a few will raise their hands! We utilize jogging in our daily
warm-ups and in some drills to get your body warm and heart
rate up. Also, be prepared to keep your heart-rate up by doing
high knees, jumping jacks, side shuffles and other cardio drills...it
can be intense. |
| How many
people are in each class? |
| |
Classes are limited for your safety, so
signing up early for a session is always a good idea. Many of
our popular class locations and times fill up 2 weeks before
the class begins. Registration for classes close at Friday noon
before a new session begins. |
| Is Ultimate
Bootcamp BLAST for me? |
| |
BLAST participants must have a minimal
aerobic base and be able to jog one mile comfortably. If this
isn't you, an Ultimate Bootcamp
BASICS workout might be more appropriate. If you have prior
injuries or conditions that you think might limit your participation,
speak to your physician to see if becoming more physically active
by attending Ultimate Bootcamp is right for you. Let them know
that you'll be doing aerobic and anaerobic drills mixed with
medium to high impact exercises and muscle conditioning. |
| Who participates
in Ultimate Bootcamp BLAST and BASICS classes? |
| |
Ultimate
Bootcamp BLAST is a great way change up your regular fitness
routine, a total kick in the pants if you're lacking motivation
or a way for graduates to maintain their bootcamp physique
after you've completed a 4-week session. Athletes and intermediate
fitness levels alike will reap the benefits from this full-body
conditioning class.
Ultimate Bootcamp BASICS
is geared towards beginners and intermediate fitness
levels who haven't gotten off the couch in awhile. Emphasis
is put on giving your 100%, no matter your fitness level,
and celebrating what you CAN achieve, not what you CANT. |
| Can
I just show up on Saturday? |
| |
No. You must register online by Friday
noon before the class begins. |

Tips on how to Weather Outdoor Workouts |
| Where
in the park do we meet? |
| |
Click
here to check out directions on our Location page. |
| Is
there a place to store my bags and valuables? |
| |
Since we are a 'rolling bootcamp' and
travel throughout the parks and neighborhoods, we do not have
a safe place to store your belongings, especially valuables.
If you need to bring keys or other small belongings with you,
we suggest a belted-carryall - such as a runners waist belt
- to keep your belongings on your person at all times.
In certain instances, a Trainer may offer to lock valuables
and/or belongings in his or her car (if they have a vehicle).
Even under these circumstances, a Trainer nor Ultimate Bootcamp
will be responsible for lost, stolen, or mistakenly-taken
items.
|
| What
do I need to bring to a BLAST or BASICS class? |
| |
Water is essential! It also helps to bring
a positive attitude, and a towel for your car or the train for
after class...you're gonna get dirty! |
| What
should I wear to class? |
| |
Dress in layers. While working out in the
summer or winter months, you will sweat a great deal. If you
wear a moisture-wicking shirt as your first layer, you’ll
be a lot more comfortable. Given that you’ll be working
out outdoors you might be asked to lie on your back on the grass
or be rolling around in agony- just kidding! So don’t
come dressed in your Sunday best! |
| What
kind of shoes should I wear? |
| |
You should be in a newer pair of athletic
shoes that are made specifically for your feet and the way you
walk/run. It all starts from the ground up, so being in the
appropriate pair of shoes will help protect your knees, shins,
and back from injury. Go to a knowledgeable shoe store where
they observe your stride and foot type before fitting you in
a pair of shoes. |
| I
just finished a class and 3 days later, I'm still sore! Is this
normal? |
| |
Your muscles don't care whether you've run
marathons, climbed mountains, or haven't worked out in 6 months,
Ultimate Bootcamp workouts are simply an activity your body
is not accustom to. Soreness can last up to 10 days after you
complete a Blast or Basics class. If this is your first Blast
or Basics class, you might want to work at 60% of your total
effort as 90 minutes of exercise is definitely a challenge.
|
| How
much water should I be drinking? |
| |
You’d be surprised how easy it
is to dehydrate. Sweating during sleep (especially during
the humid months), drinking caffeinated liquids such
as coffee, alcohol, etc., and exercising are just some
of the ways in which you lower the body’s level
of hydration. Make sure you’re drinking at LEAST
65-70 fl. oz. of water throughout the day. Try to remember
the 40/40 rule – 40 oz. of water per 40 minutes
of exercise; at least 8 before, 24 during, and 8 afterwards.
Sports drinks with electrolytes can be a good addition
to your water intake to help replenish potassium and
calcium in your body. If you’re unsure about your
level of hydration, check your urine – the darker
it is, the more dehydrated you are.
