Why do you think people are so into bootcamp–type training programs these days?
It’s fast-paced, intense, and people see results quickly. Plus, there are very few things in life that will get your endorphins flowing and leave you with a high like a boot-camp workout.

What’s your favorite thing about working out outside?
Being a Texas girl, I love a hard workout on a sunny summer day. Although ironically, being a trainer, I enjoy the energy and camaraderie that comes from the participants who go through an hourlong, rainy, muddy Bootcamp workout. It’s great to see their "no chance in hell I’m going to do a pushup in the mud" scowls turn into "wow, I feel completely invigorated" smiles after they get a little dirt on them.

What’s your favorite body part, on yourself and on a guy?
I like my lean, sexy stomach. On guys, I’m a big fan of the V-shaped upper body — broad shoulders, cut abs, tapered waist, and lean muscles — the kind that looks amazing in an athletic-cut suit.

You can’t be healthy all the time; what’s your favorite indulgence?
My weakness is baked goods: brownies, cookies, pastries. I’m so glad I don’t work downtown anymore; the half-price baked goods at Au Bon Pain after 4 p.m. were temptation beyond belief!

Do guys like women who can whip them into shape?
Guys L-O-V-E them! The testosterone level of a male shoots up by 200 percent when I tell them I own a fitness company. I can tell their imaginations start working right away.

What are your plans for Marathon Monday?
As much as I’m into fitness, I’m not a runner! I’ll be sitting on Comm Ave enjoying a few drinks and cheering for all the athletes.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done outside?
I went cliff jumping in Amalfi, Italy. The other things, my mother doesn’t need to know about.
